That's right! IPL. Indian Premier League. World's most popular cricket league. Or the most popular sports league. It's coming back, although a little delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Usually it starts during April. We even know our winners by May. But this time, due to the COVID-19, IPL has been postponed. And now BCCI has finally announced that IPL 2020 will go live from 19th September. And here are some updates. This year, IPL will be played behind closed doors. So this just means that all the avid fans who used to watch the match live in the stadium This isn't a great news for them because this time, no match will take place in India.
These matches will be held in the UAE where no spectator will be allowed inside the stadium. This leaves us no choice but to turn our homes into stadiums. And you might be curious about the IPL 2020 live streaming and how to do it. The channel Star Sports has got the exclusive rights for IPL 2020. So Star Sports will be airing IPL 2020 live. The first method is Disney+Hotstar. This method comes at a fee but we'll tell you how you can enjoy IPL 2020 at just Rs.399. And for one year, you will receive other benefits as well with the VIP subscription of Disney+Hotstar. This way, you do not have to subscribe to its Premium category which comes at a much higher price. On VIP subscription, you get all sports channels for free.
Download the Disney+Hotstar app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After login, select the VIP plan for Rs.399 subscription fee. Now you can enjoy IPL 2020 from home for just Rs.399. The cheapest ticket for one IPL match used to be at least around Rs.700 to Rs.800. So it is a win-win situation to subscribe to the VIP plan on Disney+Hotstar. This was the method that could cost you some money. The next method is absolutely free. The only condition is it's available just for Jio users for free. <Basic Jio stats we all know about> For this method, just login to your JioTV app using your Jio phone number and the OTP you'll receive. With this, you'll also need to install the Disney+Hotstar app in advance. Here you'll also need a Disney+Hotstar subscription You'll need to install both the Disney+Hotstar app and the JioTV app for this. Then go to the JioTV app and search for the Star Sports channel. Click on the option for IPL Live Streaming. Since you'll have logged into JioTV, it will automatically redirect you to the Disney+Hotstar channel And you'll see your favourite IPL match playing. That too free of cost. You can use this great method which is only for the JioTV users on smartphones. All our upcoming methods will also talk about mobile streaming of IPL live. I'm sure the Jio users are delighted with this news So let's move on to the Airtel users. You can follow the same process for the Airtel TV app. Just download the Airtel TV app. And download the Disney+Hotstar app as well. Once done, go to your Airtel TV app and login with your mobile number and OTP. Now search for Star Sports on the Airtel TV app. Here you'll see the option for Live Streaming once the live stream starts.
Click on it and you'll be redirected to the Disney+Hotstar app. It follows the same process as JioTV where after redirection, you can watch the live streaming. With this method, you can watch the entire IPL series for free. Provided you have the appropriate plan active on your Airtel SIM card. This will not be available for the plans at Rs.98 or Rs.49. For this, you must have any of these plans (Rs.149, Rs.249, Rs.399 or Rs.599) active on your number. Only then can you use this method to stream IPL for free. Now the next method is for the DishTV subsribers who have an active TV connection at home. In case you are wondering, DishTV only works on television Let me tell you that DishTV can be run on mobile phones as well. It's simple. You can either install the DishTV Anywhere app If you do not want to install the app, you can go to the DishTV Anywhere website and Login using your registered mobile number and OTP. And then you'll start seeing the DishTV channels right on your mobile screen. Select Star Sports from the list of channels And you can start streaming IPL matches. This was another amazing method using which you can transfer your DishTV connection to your phone.
Which I'm sure must have come as a new information to many. Not just DishTV, you can also use Tata Sky on your phone. For the fifth method, download the Tata Sky mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. And login using your registered mobile number. Then search for Star Sports from the list of sports channels. And now you can stream IPL matches live as they happen.
